Bow Lake
Bow Lake is a small lake along the mighty Icefields Parkway bridging between Banff and Jasper National Parks. This infinitely ethereal and breathtaking lake is fed by the patient Bow Glacier through the Bow River, and it a popular recreation spot along the Parkway in all seasons. In winter, this area is renown for its snowshoeing and icy mountains- but in summertime, this area bursts into life with rushing water, budding trees and unfurling ferns. The spectacular view presented here was captured immediately after the long hike up to Bow Falls and to Bow Hut, after the morning fog and clouds had burnt off. The spectacle provided by the clear sky made all of our jaws drop. From left to right, Mt. Andromache, Mt. Hector, Bow Peak, Crowfoot Glacier and Crowfoot Mountain awoke under the summer sun to our delight.
