Flagstaff, Arizona
My hometown is difficult to describe to people unfamiliar with it. Flagstaff is a small mountain town filled with and surrounded by history, great people, and a unique culture. There are indeed towns with bigger mountains, cooler summers, nicer people, and better schools - but there isn’t another place exactly like it. From its habitation by Navajo and Hopi natives for thousands of years, to its takeover by white settlers- the Flagstaff area has been touted as an oasis under the screaming Arizona sun, a place of healing and good living for all who stay. From Olympians to archaeologists, and ranchers to artists- this town in the center of rural Northern Arizona has something for everyone. While the people are the center of culture, and form the basis of societal character- the place itself where people gather is part of the equation too. Truly one of the few seasonal towns in AZ, each season provides the town a life of its own- each as magical as any other. The series of shots from March of 2025 shows one of the top ten snowiest towns in the country buried under new snowfall on a quiet morning.
